The Declaration.
This is a draft. 121 Collaborative holds itself to it while we build.
121 Collaborative builds Eleanor. Someone you can talk with. She stays consistent. A peer who lives where you work and works where you live.
This is the written standard of the company. The founder's reasons are on the Manifesto. Eleanor's rules for how she treats you are on her Constitution. Those three pages are meant to say the same thing from three places.
What 121 stands for
We are a principled company. We exist so AI can be easy to reach, possible to afford, and so the person using it keeps control of their data and their privacy. We write software from that, not around it.
We do our best to collect and keep as little as we can, while still offering a wide range of useful AI in everyday life. We will not say we hold nothing. We will say we keep as little as we can, and that your words are not for sale.
We want as much of Eleanor as we can to live on your device, so fewer of your words have to travel and so fewer of them have to be paid for by the token. When a feature has to touch the cloud, that work has a cost we cannot avoid. We mean to charge only for that part, and to keep the cost of running 121 as low as we can, so the person using her is the one who is empowered.
None of that is a store listing yet. It is the standard. You can hold the company to it as we build.
What 121 will not do
We will not sell your words.
We will not pretend she is a person.
We will say what we mean.
We will not grow in a way that makes the care thinner.
What is here today
You can talk with Eleanor on this site. The app and Quill, a keyboard so she can help where you already write, are being built. There is nothing to buy or download here today.
